So it’s that time of year again!! SPRING, that means it’s spring carnival season. The Spring Carnival is the horse-racing season but it’s also all about the fashion! Each race day normally has some kind of fashion contest with some of them having extremely large prizes.
The Melbourne Cup Carnival is the biggest of the season with our highest paying race, The Melbourne Cup, the race that stops the nation.
What some people may not know is that each race day has it’s own signature follower.

So if you are going to the races for the first time, it’s time to work out what dapper look to go with.
Since we are coming out of winter this means you can still go with dark suits like a navy, but since its spring you could also go with a lighter colour like beige or khaki, or even a coloured suit such as a burgundy.
With my race day ready out fits I’ve decided to go with my Rhodes and Beckett navy suit as the base and use the other items of my out fit to spring it up. Light blues, pinks, yellows, purples etc are all great colours to help you brighten up your suit. I decided to base my out fits around 3 different race days and there associated flower, Yellow Rose for Emirates Melbourne Cup Day, Pink Rose for Crown Oaks Day and Red Rose for Emirates Stakes Day.
I hope these idea’s give you some inspiration, I can’t wait to see what all you dapper ladies are wearing to the races this season so make sure you tag me @knotjustforboys on instagram. Thanks again for stopping by and I’ll see you in the next blog post!!
