Level up your style
Hey welcome to the blog, today I’m talking about how to level up your dapper style. If you’re just starting out and may be a little anxious to wear menswear out on the town or to work this is a good method to use. It will allow you to build confidence and get you to your dapper style goals with out all the attention
Leveling up simply means adding a new piece of clothing 1 piece at a time. You’ll be building the style over time, so the change will be more gradual and therefore less noticeable.
How to level up!
Shoes – These are great to start with, everyone loves nice shoes. Up grading from runners or plain black dress shoes to a nice pair of leather dress shoes, possibly some oxfords or brogues, means no ones going to say anything except compliment you on your awesome new shoes. You are looking for quality leather and details in the shoe.
Pocket Squares – Great if you are already wearing blazers with a chest pocket. You can get cotton, linen and silk ones. A pocket square definitely takes you out fit up a notch and is a simple item that’s versatile in its look. So pick a fold you like and start using pocket squares!
Cufflinks – An excellent way to class up a shirt. They can range from well priced to expensive but if you’re on a budget try eBay. If you starting your collection I suggest a couple versatile ones, such as anchors, bars, or animal inspired cuff links.
Accessories – Bracelets are simple but when paired with other items help complete an outfit. When starting out perhaps get a black and brown one that way you’ll always have one to match any outfit.
Watches – No outfit is complete without one! If you are looking at purchasing your first one, silver metal, black or brown bands with either a white or black face will be the most versatile. Watches are another great way to up your game. People may notice a nice watch but you’ll only be getting compliments.
Neckwear – At the point you start wearing your ties or bow ties you’ve reached your dapper style goal. Neckwear will be when you’ll likely get the most comments about your style, but it wont be a shock for people when its seen as part of the evolution of your style.
Congrats at this point you look dapper af and now its just about defining and refining your own unique style! I can’t wait to see it so make sure you tag me @knotjustforboys on instagram
